Traceability and Harvesting

Orga Earth implements organic agricultural practices with strong emphasises on quality and traceability of the fruit, going from the field to the individual household, each lot being treated as a unit of production with specific labelling and coding.

Once the community has accepted the deployment of the outgrow program in the village, an agro-promoter will be trained to organize and assist the families with sustainable harvesting.

The harvesting begins with a careful selection of the fruits maturity by selecting the right purple colours, correlations between stage of maturity and oil content are a reality. The antioxidant properties of the essential oil are dependant on the concentration of rich sterols and tocopherols.

After grading and controlling the fruits, they are prepared for de-pulping, washing and separation of the seeds. The effect of drying and the extraction has significant influence on yield, peroxide and acid value.

The Opuntia fruit contains all 24 betalains (more than Pomegranate or Blueberry), known antioxidants with super anti-aging effects that detoxify the body at the cellular level.

All the growing, harvesting and pre-processing steps are carefully analysed, understood and put in practice after years of research and development on cactus Bio Oil.
